The Florence Griswold Museum relies on the generous support of many individuals and families. There are many ways to give – from annual giving to planned giving. And of course, all donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

The Annual Fund supports 13% of the annual operating budget. It is the largest single source of funding for the Museum. Gifts to the Annual Fund support exhibitions and collections, educational programming, community services, and the stewardship of our historic site. Each dollar raised directly enhances the experience of our visitors.

The Annual Fund is separate from Membership dues although membership is included with Annual Fund gifts of $2,500 or more. Pease learn more about the operation and collections of the Museum by joining one of the Circles of Giving.

President's Circle $5,000 and up
Director's Circle $4,999 - $2,500
Curator's Circle $2,400 - $1,000
Friend's Circle All gifts up to $999

Your tax-deductible gift will help to enrich the cultural life for the entire community and beyond. All gifts are listed in the Museum's Annual Report.

Planned Giving
The Museum offers a full range of planned giving vehicles to choose from - bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts and gifts of significant pieces of art or antiques. Planned giving is critical to the future of this institution. All planned gifts are directed to the endowment fund. As this fund grows, so does the Museum.

The Florence Griswold Museum invites you to join the Lieutenant River Society, an esteemed and growing membership of generous donors who have included the Museum in their estate plans.

The Director of Development would be pleased to provide you with information about the various options and confidentially confer with you, your attorney, and accountant, trust officer or other advisers.

Exhibition Fund
The Florence Griswold Museum has a lengthy track record organizing and sponsoring temporary exhibitions designed to further its educational mission and reach new audiences.

The purpose of the Exhibition Fund is to assist the Museum in the creation and early development of special exhibitions that are under consideration by the Director and Curator. Gifts to the Exhibition Fund help to underwrite the curatorial, educational, and marketing costs of presenting exciting shows that are seen by thousands of visitors.

Special Purpose Fund
This program offers opportunity to match donor interest with Museum programs and/or initiatives. It's a terrific way to direct your giving to a specific need of the Museum.

Gifts In Tribute
Gifts may be made in memory of a loved one or in honor of a special friend. A gift to the Museum is a great way to recognize birthdays or anniversaries too. All gifts are recognized in the Annual Report.
