Group Tours

Plan the Perfect Day

The Museum is ready to make your group visit a special one! All group visits include special rates and full access to everything the Museum has to offer. The following are some of the options available to groups.




Basic Group Admission
Groups of 10 or more who reserve ahead and can pay as a group are eligible for a special group rate admission fee of $8 per person. Groups of less than 10 will be charged regular admission.

Guided Tours with a Docent
Groups of 10 or more can request a one-hour docent guided tour of the current exhibitions, the Griswold House, the gardens & grounds, or a combination tour. Guided tours are $50 for each guide (1 guide for every 20 visitors). This fee does not include group admission.
Group Tours
Guided Tours with a Member of the Staff
Groups of 10 or more can request a one-hour professional staff tour of the current exhibitions, the Griswold House, the gardens & grounds, or a combination tour. Guided tours by members of the professional staff are $100* (1 staff member for every 20 visitors). *fee does not include group admission.

Lunch Options

Elegant Boxed Lunches Prepared Especially for You
By Gourmet Galley Catering

Extend your visit to the Florence Griswold Museum and enjoy a private lunch in the gracious rooms of Marshfield House with stunning views up the Lieutenant River.

Available for groups of 10 or more.
Box lunches must be ordered in advance.
$25 per person (all inclusive).

Lunch options are named for the most illustrious artists & figures associated with the Lyme Art Colony.

Roasted Vegetables with Boursin Cheese in a Wrap

Tuna Fish Salad with Lettuce and Tomato on Whole Wheat

Egg Salad with Lettuce and Tomato on Whole Wheat

All choices include Pasta Salad, Cookie or Brownie.

Hot Coffee, Hot Tea, selection of Soft Drinks, and Bottled Water.

Artistic Options
Groups of 10 or more can request a one-hour painting activity in the Hartman Education Center (participants will paint outdoors in the garden weather permitting). The project features basic instruction, all painting materials, and clean up. Painting activity is $5 per person.

Groups should be booked at least 2 weeks prior to date of visit. Group visits can be booked by phone (860) 434-5542, ext. 115 or email David. Please have the following ready when booking a group visit.
  1. Name of your organization
  2. Main contact person for tour
  3. Contact person's phone number, email address, mailing address
  4. First choice of date and time of visit
  5. Second choice of date and time of visit (snow date option)
  6. Approximate number of visitors
  7. Tour options (self-guided, docent guided, lunch, painting, etc.)
  8. Special requests/requirements

Groups receive a Group Tour Confirmation Form in the mail after booking is complete. Tours are not confirmed without receipt of the Group Tour Confirmation Form. Groups are encouraged to bring a copy of this form with them on the day of the tour.

Tour Cancellation and Late Arrival
Should your plans to visit change or you anticipate being more than 15 minutes late on the day of the tour, please call the Museum’s Front Desk at (860) 434-5542, ext. 111 or ext. 0.

The Museum has a flyer template as well as brief tour descriptions, photographs, and our logo available for groups to use in advertising your group visit.
