While you are in Old Lyme you can Follow the Feathers to continue your adventure! Visit participating merchants who have created fanciful birdhouses inspired by their businesses. Look for the Feather signs as you journey down Lyme Street and Halls Road. At the end of your trail, use the ballot to vote for your favorite merchant birdhouse. Starts October 8. (Make sure you try Prince Chirpin's Chocolate Chip Treasure Trove at the Old Lyme Ice Cream Shoppe!)

Photographer Rick Scalan went to a few of the birdhouse artist's studios as they were preparing their creations. Take a look at the behind-the-scenes pictures.
